EVV Software Connected to Your Home Care Operations
Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) records key information associated with a home care visit — who provided care, for which client, where the visit took place, and when it started and ended.
CareVieo captures that information on the caregiver's phone against the scheduled visit, so the office can compare scheduled versus completed visits and pass verified time into timesheets and billing without re-entry.

What is EVV software?
EVV software is the system that electronically records the details of a home care visit instead of relying on paper timesheets. It typically captures the caregiver, the client, the service location, and the start and end times of the visit, and stores those records for review, payroll and payer submission.
Requirements for electronic visit verification differ by state and by payer. CareVieo provides the capture, review and reporting tools; each agency remains responsible for determining which payer and state requirements apply to its programs.
What CareVieo EVV supports today
Visit capture works on iOS and Android and is tied to the scheduled shift created in scheduling.
Mobile clock-in / clock-out
Caregivers punch in and out from the CareVieo mobile app against the shift they were assigned, with visit tasks shown for the visit.
GPS location capture
Device location is recorded at clock-in and clock-out, with clear guidance to the caregiver when location permission is missing or blocked.
Configurable geofencing
Set a radius per client location and decide whether out-of-area punches are simply flagged for review or blocked outright. Flagging is the default.
Scheduled vs. completed visits
Compare planned time against verified time to spot late starts, short visits and missed visits before they become billing problems.
Caregiver & client association
Every visit record ties the authenticated caregiver to the client and the schedule entry, so visit history is attributable.
Missed punches & corrections
Coordinators can enter a missed punch or correct a punch when a device fails, and the correction is recorded with who made it and when.
Timesheets from verified time
Verified visit time rolls into timesheet periods that follow your configured week start, ready for payroll export and invoicing.
Billing softwareVisit documentation
Care plan tasks completed during the visit, plus caregiver visit notes — including voice-captured notes that work offline — attach to the visit record.
Audit trail
Visit records, punch edits and administrative actions are logged, and access to visit data follows role-based permissions.

Compliance responsibility
CareVieo does not claim universal EVV compliance.
EVV rules — including required data elements, aggregator submission, and whether a state operates an open or closed model — vary by state and payer program. Some agencies also submit through an aggregator or a payer portal such as HHAeXchange, for which CareVieo offers a separate HHAeXchange workflow.
Your agency is responsible for determining the requirements that apply to your programs and for confirming that your configuration and submission process satisfy them. We are happy to review your specific state and payer setup with you before you commit.
Frequently asked questions
What does EVV stand for?
Electronic Visit Verification — the electronic capture of home care visit details, replacing paper timesheets.
What data does CareVieo capture at a visit?
The caregiver's authenticated identity, the client and scheduled visit, clock-in and clock-out timestamps, device location at each punch, the geofence evaluation result, and the care tasks and notes recorded during the visit.
Is CareVieo EVV approved in every state?
No — we do not make that claim. State and payer requirements differ, and agencies are responsible for verifying applicable rules. Ask us about your specific state and payer programs and we will tell you plainly what is and is not supported.
What happens if a caregiver's GPS is unavailable?
The caregiver receives specific guidance for enabling location, and the punch can still be recorded and flagged for office review. A coordinator can also enter a missed punch when a device fails entirely.
Can the agency block clock-in outside the geofence?
Yes, it is a per-agency setting. By default out-of-area punches are flagged for review rather than blocked, so caregivers are never stranded at a client's door.
Does EVV data flow into billing?
Yes. Verified visit time becomes timesheet and billing input, using payer rate tables rather than manual transcription.
Is EVV included in all plans?
EVV is included from the Essentials plan upward. View CareVieo pricing to compare tiers.
